BIMzeED joins BIMalliance Ireland

The BIMzeED project has joined BIMalliance with other EU projects: BIMcert, BIMplement, Net-UBIEP and BIMEET with the aim to minimise the carbon footprint of energy use in construction, by positioning BIM in European Energy and Climate Roadmaps beyond 2020.

BIMalliance will mainly focus on creating a collaborative platform linking all projects, developing a digital library for sharing materials and resources for training purposes, developing common surveys and reports with guidelines for future actions.

Lis O’Brien from LIT is working with Paul McCormack from Belfast Metropolitan College, developing a digital library by collecting existing BIM and nZEB materials and resources to help develop the BIMzeED Learning Units which will be piloted at a number of Educational Institutions (higher and Vocational) and SMES across Ireland, Spain, Croatia and Hungary during 2020 and 2021.

LIT is actively involved in the development of learning content to address skills mismatches in the construction sector and identifying know-how gaps in relation to BIM and nZEB in both industry and education.
